First Blues Music Festival at Hobbit House a HUGE SUCCESS

Monday, February 11th, 2008

Wow. Whoa. What a night!

It was our pleasure at Rebolusyon Rekords and Rakrakan to be part of the 1st Bluesfest. It felt good to be involved in a blues music show in Manila after taking the Blueskrieg train up south and north of Luzon…

Kudos to Andy and The Blue Rats for starting the Bluesfest. Hats off to Pidoy and the hobbits for handling the massive surge of people. Big shoutout to the following:

- the bands Soul Benders, Plug, Kulukati, Snakecharmer (welcome back), The Blue Rats, Jun Lopito and Diamond Dogs, Mr Crayon and Alex of Hukkah
- RJ UR 105.9 for the radio plugs
- Pidoy and Hobbit House crew
- Howlin Dave for the energetic emceeing
- Direk for running a tight show
- Jonathan for the video coverage
- and May for ensuring that everybody got paid, hehehe.

What a fantastic evening of soulful blues and rock n roll. Sa uulitin.

Pinoy Blues Music video. Tumblin Down by PLUG live at 19East

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

I thought it was a special and memorable blues night, great line up, nice venue, nice sound, nice vibes.

I had the gig captured on two video cameras and I also recorded the audio multi track (drums overhead, kick, bass guitar, guitar 1, guitar 2, vocals and the stereo mix from the house). My impression after skimming the captured video and audio material is that we may be able to make something out of it, (DVD anyone?). We did not capture all, but we captured a lot.

Lots of footage and clips of Lampano Alley, Kulukati, Snakecharmer, PLUG and The Long Johns.

I’ll be posting music videos on an installment basis coz it takes a ton of time to edit the video to the mixed sound track. iMovie has only 1 video track and I’m doing multi-cam edits that need to be synced to the audio - yeah, it’s a torture and pain but have to do it that way until I get Final Cut Express HD.
The mixing of the multi-track audio parts is kinda easy, mostly balancing and taming the spikes, to retain the live feel, as much as possible 60% should come from the house mix.

Anyway, here is the first music video installment….
