Somebody (Matt of PPX?) sent a MusikMAX BICOL CD to Francis Brew’s In The Raw radio show on NU107. As a result, two tracks from MusikMAX BICOL received the Standout Track Of The Week honor two weeks in a row. Last week it was KAHON by Pepsi Paloma Experiment, this week it is Chocolate Brown Coffee by Stolenshots. Here are my posts on my multiply site about the matter:

Last Saturday, I received advice that several songs from MusikMAX BICOL CD will be played and reviewed again by Francis Brew on his In The Raw radio show at NU107. This is PART TWO of his review (but of course, with 19 songs spanning 78 minutes on the MusikMAX BICOL CD - a 2-hour radio show is not enough).

I wasn’t able to tune in coz I was holed up in the hospital watching over my 15-month old daugther who got the dangerous Kawasaki disease (she’s out of danger now).

This afternoon, while driving around Makati I was surprised to hear “Break the Silence” by Black Gulaman being played on NU107 BUT… the announcement after the song was for “Chocolate Brown Coffee by Stolenshots“… hmmm, something’s wrong.

So I YM’d nurocktalk to clear out the confusion and get the real score… without further ado, the official IN THE RAW STANDOUT TRACK OF THE WEEK is…

This is a very late posting I know, nevertheless we want to let the public know that our Bicol romp last July 2008 was a HUGE success. We officially released the MusikMAX BICOL CD via launch parties in the Bicol region as further strengthening of the MusikMAX concept of local music scene focus.

We designated two tracks as carrier singles: DALOY by IDLE PITCH and ALBAY SONG by BUCKYARD BOYZ. By the time we got to Bicol, these two songs were already enjoying considerable airplay via organic requests (and MASSIVE legwork by our coordinators Jonjie San Vicente in Naga and Irle Sabdao in Legazpi). In fact, ALBAY SONG cracked the Top 10 of OKFM Legazpi’s Top30 countdown, accordingly the first time a local act from Legazpi got into the OK charts.
