It was our pleasure at Rebolusyon Rekords and Rakrakan to be part of the 1st Bluesfest. It felt good to be involved in a blues music show in Manila after taking the Blueskrieg train up south and north of Luzon…

Kudos to Andy and The Blue Rats for starting the Bluesfest. Hats off to Pidoy and the hobbits for handling the massive surge of people. Big shoutout to the following:

Rebolusyon Rekords is in need of a marketing and business development guru who will champion our artists and products into new opportunities in the Pinoy music marketplace.

Marketing and Business Development Manager.

This KEY position is responsible for growing and developing the Artists and music releases of Rebolusyon Rekords. We are looking for a person with a balance of creativity and business acumen. A go getter who loves and believes in Original Filipino Music. A total communicator who’s passion is to experience Pinoy music and spread the word to Filipinos in the Philippines and abroad.

The second record release of Rebolusyon Rekords is entitled BLUESKRIEG. It is now in the final mixing stage.

The CD cover design and packaging is also being finalized. The target in store release date is first week of December.
BLUESKRIEG is a compilation CD featuring five (5) Philippine bands playing blues-influenced/blues-based music, Original Pilipino Blues Music. The featured bands are (in alphabetical order) :

• DAHON
• FIREBOTTLE
• KULUKATI
• PLUG and
• SNAKECHARMER

BLUESKRIEG contains fifteen (15) original songs that arguably cover the wide gamut of blues music varieties, from standard 12-bar blues, to soul/rnb tinged blues, to classic rock, southern rock, country rock style blues to modern heavy blues based rock…

There was an advanced listening party cum blues night gig at Conspiracy Bar last Nov. 4 - overall the reaction to the songs and mixes were quite positive - just a few enhancements, very few rough edges. Click here for commentary on the  performances that bluesy Saturday night in Quezon City.
The BLUESKRIEG term was coined by Gerry Diwa in 1995 for a blues night feature concert in Club Dredd, the hotspot for original music back in those days.

Watch out for the BLUESKRIEG CD and related activities. The launch party is on November 25, 2006 at 6Underground in Makati. All five (5) BLUESKRIEG bands will be there with special guests THE BLUE RATS. Watch out.

After months of hard work, Eyescream’s debut CD “Memories” is now officially out. Containing 10 original songs composed and performed by the band Eyescream, the Memories CD is available for purchase at all Odyssey music stores in Metro Manila starting Wednesday Oct. 31, 2006.
Eyescream’s “Memories” debut CD is distributed by Vicor Music Phiippines - if the salesperson at Odyssey doesn’t know about the record yet - ask for the Vicor salesperson. Eyescream is spelled E-Y-E-S-C-R-E-A-M.

REBOLUSYON REKORDS is a record label that features Original Pilipino Music (OPM) written and performed by Filipino artists whose songs we personally, truly and sincerely like.

REBOLUSYON respects the Artists and their song/music creations. It will be fair and just in dealing with Artists.

Music first. Music last. REBOLUSYON will not engage in PAYOLA. We will promote and advertise our record products but not payola. We are counting on our industry friends to help and support our cause.

REBOLUSYON is not Pinoy rock music only. Our main criteria is that the music is by a Filipino. That the songs and music are real and authentic creations and expression. Not contrived, manufactured and artificial.

Real and raw does not equate with sloppy. REBOLUSYON’s releases may have the big HOOKs and catchy lines like those of mainstream records. No apologies.

REBOLUSYON is not a CHARITY but a business that will sell enough records to keep the wheels of discovering new talents, creating new music and new records churning.
