BLUESKRIEG - Original Pinoy Blues Music
The second record release of Rebolusyon Rekords is entitled BLUESKRIEG. It is now in the final mixing stage.
The CD cover design and packaging is also being finalized. The target in store release date is first week of December.
BLUESKRIEG is a compilation CD featuring five (5) Philippine bands playing blues-influenced/blues-based music, Original Pilipino Blues Music. The featured bands are (in alphabetical order) :
- DAHON
- FIREBOTTLE
- KULUKATI
- PLUG and
- SNAKECHARMER
BLUESKRIEG contains fifteen (15) original songs that arguably cover the wide gamut of blues music varieties, from standard 12-bar blues, to soul/rnb tinged blues, to classic rock, southern rock, country rock style blues to modern heavy blues based rock…
There was an advanced listening party cum blues night gig at Conspiracy Bar last Nov. 4 - overall the reaction to the songs and mixes were quite positive - just a few enhancements, very few rough edges. Click here for commentary on the performances that bluesy Saturday night in Quezon City.
The BLUESKRIEG term was coined by Gerry Diwa in 1995 for a blues night feature concert in Club Dredd, the hotspot for original music back in those days.
Watch out for the BLUESKRIEG CD and related activities. The launch party is on November 25, 2006 at 6Underground in Makati. All five (5) BLUESKRIEG bands will be there with special guests THE BLUE RATS. Watch out.

I love the CD so much; especially Firebottle and Snake Charmer parts. I’ve been a fan of blues since I’m 13; (16 palang ako! hehehe) and you releasing this CD is such a relief from the current OPM scene(you know what I mean, living by old records and youtube. No new local CDs to buy, yada yada.)!! I just love the CD.
Favorite cut ko ‘yung Firebottle’s Bakit Ako Nagkaganito(yun yata un).
=) post promotional gig sked please!

why used the portrait of andres bonifacio in the album sleeve? why the name rebolusyon? when in fact theres nothing revolutionary in it..even the songs of the blueskrieg bands(supposed to be pinoi but the music and lyrics are very westernized), very alien to the pinoi working class (in fact, the pinoi workers are the ones buying the album)..please try to cease using revolutionary portraits in your next outing, never used it for corporate (greed) business.. thanks.

We at “ The Bukswagen X!” would like to know if your group would be interested in consigning the audio/video materials for our small our shop to sell.
Our Shop is called
“The Bukswagen Experiments” (your indie music store)
and we are supporting local independent musicians/filmakers
by carrying independently produced cds/vcds/dvds,

Geronimo, easy lang tol… if you knew the musical landscape of the Philippines, you’d understand bakit “revolutionary” ang CD =) Sometimes, we ought not to be TOO literal bro.
and by the way, I’d rather you spell it “Pinoy” =)
